The school is within walking distance from the train station. If you come from Oslo (either the city or the airport) you can take train 20 towards Lillehammer/Trondheim. Those of you coming from Trondheim can take the same train, but towards Oslo S or Skien.
The cheapest train tickets can be ordered from nsb.no if you book well in advance. Then it costs 199 NOK regardless of where you come from. There are also bus companies that offer cheaper prices.
BUS
Lavprisekspressen offers tickets from Oslo city centre and Gardermoen. Currently the cheapest tickets are 149 NOK (don't wait, they don't get cheaper). You must order through their webpage (select "Oslo-Dovre-Trondheim-Oslo" from the dropdown menu). Check out the time; they only go 2-3 times a day.
If you don't want to order in advance, but you really, really want a bus ride, go for NOR-WAY Bussekspress. They operate two lines to Lillehammer, and both stop in Oslo and Gardermoen. You buy tickets on the bus. They should take credit cards, but if you're smart you'll bring a little cash just in case. Line 148 Gudbrandsdalekspressen is the cheapest one, 150 kroner for students and adults alike. You can also take Line 147 Nordfjordekspressen (adults 325 NOK, students 245 NOK).
